Electric vehicle startup Aehra plans to invest 1.2 billion euros to develop and produce two ultra-luxury electric cars in Italy. The company has requested partial funding from the Italian government for this project.
Aehra plans to start production of the Impeto SUV and Estasi sedan in mid-2026. The location is the Mosciano Sant’Angelo factory in central Italy. The factory will produce 25,000 units of each model annually. Aehra claims the Impeto and Estasi can achieve a range of 800 kilometers. Each model features one front motor and two rear motors. The total power reaches 800 horsepower. They can hit a top speed of 260 kilometers per hour and accelerate from zero to 100 in under three seconds. Filippo Perini designed both cars. He has previously worked with Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Italdesign, and Genesis. Aehra has not announced the final pricing for these vehicles. However, during the 2022 launch of the Impeto SUV, the company indicated a price range of $160,000 to $180,000.
Aehra stated that the requested government funds will support the development of two cars and the construction of a new manufacturing facility. Aehra founder and major shareholder Hazim Nada said in a press release, “It would be very exciting if our funding application receives approval from the Italian government and is selected as a national strategic project.” Hazim Nada added, “This will further prove Aehra’s mission to redefine ultra-luxury sustainable mobility using the latest engineering, battery, and manufacturing technologies.”
