Today, Lantu Motors CEO Lu Fang and Huawei Smart Car Solutions BU CEO Jin Yuzhi held a live stream. They unveiled the new Lantu Dreamer’s design. Lu Fang also announced the new car will start pre-sales on August 28.
Two executives shared the story behind their collaboration and their vision for future cooperation. The new Lantu Dreamer fills the gaps in MPV intelligence. Now, the Dreamer is undeniably a luxury smart MPV. We have fully experienced the new Dreamer. Due to confidentiality, let’s first introduce the car’s appearance. The new Lantu Dreamer follows the “Kunpeng Spreading Wings” design language. It looks more stylish than the current model. With its elegant appearance, the Dreamer stands out among its peers in the new energy MPV segment.
The new Lantu Dreamer features an innovative front design. The grille draws inspiration from the culturally rich “Eastern Huabiao.” It uses 34 symmetrical elements, symbolizing China’s 34 provincial-level administrative regions working together. The car measures over 5.3 meters in length, nearly 2 meters in width, and stands 1.8 meters tall. Its wheelbase impresses. Inside and outside, the car feels truly spacious.
The new car features 79% high-strength steel and aluminum alloy. Its torsional stiffness exceeds that of traditional luxury MPVs by over three times. It can withstand 140kN of top pressure, equivalent to the weight of nine regular passenger cars. Safety includes several global firsts. It has a 2000MPa integrated hot-formed laser-welded door ring. It features a 2000MPa aluminum-silicon coated door anti-collision beam. It also includes a through-type aluminum threshold reinforcement beam. The car introduces the world’s first CBS body filling structure enhancement material and high-pressure cast aluminum shock absorber tower in an MPV. Notably, the car uses Huawei’s QianKun 3.0 system. It upgrades the end-to-end large model. It includes 192-line lidar, millimeter-wave radar, and high-performance cameras. In total, it has 27 intelligent perception hardware units. This setup allows for real-time environmental sensing and recognition of various irregular obstacles. Huawei’s QianKun ADS 3.0 builds on the architecture of QianKun ADS 2.0’s BEV+GOD network. It upgrades to a GOD large network. This transition significantly enhances the ability to understand driving scenarios, improving the safety and experience of intelligent driving.
The chassis of Lantu cars uses solid materials, primarily all-aluminum. The new Dreamer features a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension. It also comes with an intelligent four-wheel drive system and an air suspension with a magic carpet function and CDC system, making it a strong competitor in its class. Although the new car’s interior was not revealed today, the live stream showed that the new Lantu Dreamer includes a refrigerator, color TV, and large sofa. The car also features Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit. This system emphasizes minimalist design, removing unnecessary elements. The icons are clear, and the interface is neat and attractive. Additionally, the Huawei App Market offers a vast array of ecological applications, covering 99% of office scenarios.
The new Lantu Dreamer shows significant improvements over the current model. It excels in intelligence, comfort, and luxury. The smart features stand out, especially with Huawei’s support. Expect advancements in its smart cockpit and driving capabilities.
