Before the 2024 Chengdu Auto Show, the Sina Auto reporting team captured images of the Hongqi HS7 PHEV. This new model is a mid-to-large SUV. It features a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system. The vehicle has already started pre-sales. The price range is 315,800 to 345,800 yuan (48670$). It may officially launch tomorrow.
The Red Flag HS7 PHEV closely resembles the Red Flag HS7. The front features a large, vertical grille and split headlights. The massive grille gives the front a commanding presence. The design of the LED daytime running lights draws inspiration from a standing flagpole and a fluttering flag. Once lit, they offer high recognition.
The Red Flag HS7 PHEV features a dual waistline design on its sides. The upper waistline rises at the rear door. The car measures 4995mm in length, 1960mm in width, and 1770mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2920mm, consistent with the fuel version. It has a PHEV badge on the rear and 20-inch low-resistance wheels, differing slightly from the pure fuel version.
The interior features a symmetrical “T” layout. It looks elegant and creates a good sense of enclosure. Real wood decor adorns the center console, door handles, and gear shift area. For interaction, it uses a 12.6-inch central screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. The top model includes a HUD that projects up to 7.5 meters and covers an area of 70 inches.
The new car offers 6-seat and 7-seat models. The second and third rows provide ample space. The second and third-row seatbacks can lie flat. This creates a rear space of up to 1847 liters. The utilization rate is 68.4%.
The Hongqi HS7 PHEV features a 2.0T hybrid engine and dual motors. The engine delivers a maximum power of 120 kW and a maximum torque of 260 N·m. It achieves a thermal efficiency of 44.42%. The system has a combined power of 358 kW, and the HDU35 axle torque reaches 3750 N·m. The vehicle uses a 20.1 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery. It offers an electric range of 83 km and a top speed of 180 km/h.
The power system features “4 engines and 8 modes.” Smart control of the four engines, generators, front motor, and rear motor enables rapid switching between eight modes in 0.3 seconds. These modes include pure electric four-wheel drive, two-wheel drive, series four-wheel drive, series two-wheel drive, energy recovery four-wheel drive, energy recovery two-wheel drive, parallel four-wheel drive, and parallel two-wheel drive. The total range exceeds 1100 km. The WLTC combined fuel consumption is 1.67 L/100 km. The CLTC fuel consumption in low battery conditions is only 5.7 L/100 km.
