On August 30, 2024, Xiaomi Auto debuted at the Chengdu Auto Show. The booth showcased all nine color models of the SU7. During a media briefing, Xiaomi Auto announced progress in smart driving technology and market coverage. They detailed the safety strategy for the SU7. Regarding smart driving achievements, Xiaomi Auto’s highway and city navigation assistance now covers the entire country. They achieved the fastest city opening speed, timely delivery, and nationwide operation. Xiaomi Auto conducts monthly OTA upgrades. On April 3, they delivered the nationwide high-speed NOA feature. On June 6, they launched the city NOA feature in ten cities, covering major roads in core areas. On August 30, they delivered the Pioneer version of the city NOA feature, enabling nationwide operation.
As of August 28, smart driving had about 43,400 active devices. The user activity rate reached 88%. Total driving mileage hit 29.43 million kilometers. The longest single-day mileage surpassed 2,021 kilometers. The city NOA function is now available nationwide. NOA can reach any location accessible by car navigation. It can drive wherever there is a road, without ODD restrictions.
In parking, end-to-end technology continues mass production. The IVISTA China Intelligent Vehicle Index 2023 achieved a G+ rating. It gained recognition from both users and industry organizations. This sets a high standard for smart parking and valet parking. Regarding safety strategy advancements, the China Automotive Research Institute updates its testing regulations every three years. The latest version, 2023, includes 39 new or upgraded items compared to the 2020 version.
In the upcoming 2023 version of the保研 test, the Xiaomi SU7 aims for the top rating of G+. It excels in structural durability, pedestrian protection, and occupant safety. The Xiaomi SU7 uses a comprehensive redundancy protection strategy. It combines wheel rotation, body sliding, and body reinforcement. This strategy effectively disperses collision forces during severe small-offset collisions, protecting the integrity of the occupant compartment. The SU7 features a robust armored cage made of steel and aluminum. High-strength steel and aluminum alloy make up 90.1% of the structure. Key areas use 2000MPa ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel to ensure the occupant compartment remains intact.
Beyond the white body protection, the Xiaomi SU7 enhances safety with its airbag design. It features advanced safety equipment, including unique airbags and downward-curving curtains. This setup minimizes passenger injury during small offset collisions.
In addition, the Xiaomi SU7 focuses on structural durability, pedestrian protection, and occupant protection. It underwent over 120,000 simulation analyses, specifically for small offset collision scenarios. The full vehicle simulation verification reached over 30,000 times. For passive safety, the Xiaomi SU7 conducted over 500 tests at the component, system, and vehicle levels. These tests covered the vehicle structure, power battery, interior panels, airbags, seat belts, and even details like wipers.
