On September 10, 2024, Chery launched the all-new Tiggo 8 PLUS series. The new models feature upgrades in appearance, interior, and configuration. The new Chery Tiggo 8 PLUS features a redesigned front. The grille changes from a sharp polygon to a smooth rounded rectangle. The internal design still uses dot matrix elements but differs from the current model. The headlight assembly shifts from a single unit to a split design. The upper lights include V-shaped daytime running lights. The lower lights connect to the grille with a black trim. Overall, the new front looks more upright and confident.

These include rear cross collision braking, rear approach warning, lane keeping, lane departure assistance, blind spot monitoring, door opening warning, traffic sign recognition, front collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.
For power, the fuel versions offer 1.6T and 2.0T Kunpeng engines. The 1.6T engine delivers 197 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. The 2.0T engine provides 254 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque. The 1.6T model features a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The 2.0T model uses Chery’s self-developed 8AT transmission. The all-wheel-drive version includes an intelligent all-terrain control system. It offers three driving modes and four off-road modes.
The C-DM Kunpeng hybrid model features a 1.5T super-efficient engine and DHT. The 1.5T engine delivers 115 kW of power and 220 Nm of torque. The motor provides a maximum power of 150 kW. The vehicle charges from 30% to 80% in 19 minutes. It offers a combined range of over 1600 km. The fuel consumption in low battery mode is 3.8 L/100 km.
