The Volkswagen ID.4 X Smart maintains the overall design of the previous model. The front grille features a closed design. The headlights connect with a LED daytime running light strip that runs across the front. The glowing logo enhances the front’s width and adds a tech feel. The side and rear designs are neat. The smooth body lines create an elongated look. The flat roofline ensures ample headroom inside. The taillights also feature a continuous design, providing a modern look when lit. The new car measures 4612mm in length, 1852mm in width, and 1640mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2765mm.
The Volkswagen ID.4 X Smart Edition features 19-inch wheels. Other models have 20-inch wheels. The design offers two styles. The entry-level model uses a two-tone five-spoke design. The other models use a two-tone multi-spoke design. Both styles look stylish. The entry-level model has tire specifications of 235/55 R19. Other models have front tires of 235/50 R20 and rear tires of 255/45 R20.

The Volkswagen ID.4 X Smart Edition features a rear-mounted single motor across all models. It offers two specifications based on the model configuration. The motor power is either 125 kW or 170 kW, with a total torque of 310 N·m for both. The CLTC pure electric range for the 125 kW version is 425 km. The 170 kW version has a range of 601 km.
