On September 25, 2024, BYD Group held the ceremony for the 9 millionth new energy vehicle at the Shen-shan factory. The vehicle was the high-performance electric supercar, Yangwang U9. Notably, only two months passed since the 8 millionth new energy vehicle rolled off the line. BYD once again demonstrated acceleration in the new energy sector.

In August this year, the Yangwang U9 officially delivered. It uses two core technologies: Easy Square and Cloud Nian-X. To meet the U9’s high performance and quality demands, Yangwang built a dedicated U9 factory in Deep Shan. This factory is the first exclusive plant for new energy supercars in China. The U9 is the first mass-produced model in China to use carbon fiber structural components. It features the world’s largest single-shell carbon cabin. The carbon fiber material achieves a strength 5 to 6 times that of steel.
To ensure product quality, U9 carbon cabins impose strict requirements on the production environment and employee skills. They built a 2,000 square meter clean room with constant humidity and temperature for carbon cabin production. They selected experienced, skilled workers, including many BYD gold medal craftsmen. Additionally, Yangwang uses smart assembly processes to ensure precise assembly of each car. In just over two months, BYD reached its 9 millionth vehicle. This achievement showcases BYD’s acceleration in the new energy sector. Each millionth vehicle marks a new record for speed in China.
