Xpeng is getting better. The recent launch of the MONA M03 raised young people’s expectations for compact cars. Now, the P7+ adds space and home usability to its smart features. Initially, Xpeng targeted tech-savvy men interested in cutting-edge technology. Now, with a wider range of models, home usability has become a key feature for Xpeng.
The coupe still shines with attractiveness. Years ago, the Xiaopeng P7 gained fame for its outstanding design. The P7+ builds on recent design experiences from Xiaopeng, adding some new features. The new car retains the family Robot Face front. It extends the design by integrating the front light bar with the headlights. The unified light bar pairs with separate headlights, creating an X shape that represents the Xiaopeng brand logo.
The headlight assembly extends downward through an air intake duct. It connects seamlessly with the dark lower surround, creating a distinctive visual effect. The low, wide stance of the P7+ enhances its front design. It embodies Xiaopeng’s signature tech and futuristic feel. The design also exudes a sense of grandeur, fitting for a mid-sized sedan.
The front face shows that the Xiaopeng P7+ has removed the LiDAR. It now relies solely on vision for its smart driving solution. We will discuss this in detail later.
From the side, the P7+ showcases typical proportions and stance of a mid-engine coupe. Its visual center shifts forward, creating a strong sense of dive. This results from the original electric vehicle’s engineering layout. It achieves great visual effect while providing more interior space. The new car measures 5056 mm in length, 1937 mm in width, and 1512 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 3000 mm.
The car’s side design is very simple. The “heritage” hidden door handles are present. The silver body and black floating roof create a strong sporty feel. The lines are sharp and smooth. The roof and window line extend back and meet at the uniquely shaped rear wing.
The new car features frameless rearview mirrors. The base integrates AI driving indicator lights. When the driving mode activates, blue and green lights stay on. According to official data, the car underwent 20 aerodynamic optimizations. The drag coefficient reached 0.206 Cd.
The rear of the P7+ features a new design. It no longer resembles the P7. The floating dual-layer spoiler pairs with angular taillights and a rear diffuser. This combination creates rich layers and enhances the P7+’s recognition.
The interior balances technology and warmth. First, the design. The Xiaopeng P7+ uses a design language called “Cloud Space.” It creates a simple, warm feel while maintaining a tech vibe. This interior style closely resembles the MONA M03. However, it offers better quality and detail.
The layered center console enhances the interior. The design features stylish shapes and colors. The starry waterfall ambient lights add elegance. The matte gold trim provides the perfect touch. Overall, the interior quality improves significantly.
How does the “space monster” perform? Recent promotions highlight space as a key selling point for the new car. With a three-meter wheelbase, the Xiaopeng P7+ aims to create an SUV-like spaciousness in a coupe design. This is undoubtedly great news for family users.
The new car maximizes space efficiency. It achieves an 88% overall space utilization rate and a 65% effective seating space rate. The second-row space also receives full attention. The rear seating area measures 994mm, with a flat floor. This design creates a spacious experience. The rear seat cushion height reaches 285mm, and the cushion contact length is 330.1mm. This setup provides excellent support for passengers.
The 109mm battery pack and hatchback design ensure ample headroom. The 3.2㎡ panoramic roof enhances the rear seating experience. The space feels roomy and bright.
Remove the space. The other two hard requirements for “home use” are comfort and convenience. The P7+ features the new Cloud Sense Seat 2.0. It has an 8-layer design with a total thickness of 131mm. Inside, it uses 20mm slow-rebound zero-pressure memory foam and a 100mm firm support foam layer. This design keeps the seat soft without sinking. The Nappa perforated leather feels delicate and offers excellent breathability.
The standard features include heated, ventilated, and massaging seats for all rows. The rear seats offer six intelligent massage scenarios. They also come with 10° of infinite electric adjustment. The backrest adjusts from 27° to 37°. This meets the needs of different body types.
The rear passenger seat, like many administrative models, features a small table similar to the X9. This design helps rear passengers.
The large hatchback design offers many advantages for the trunk. It provides a wide opening and ample depth. Storing and retrieving items becomes easier.
The trunk expands to 2221L when the rear seats fold down. It can hold 32 pieces of 20-inch luggage. An 83L storage compartment sits under the trunk cover.
Smart technology is essential for home vehicles. Don’t forget about Xiaopeng’s key feature. The Xiaopeng P7+ includes the AI-powered vehicle operating system, AI Tianji. This system enhances the smart cockpit and smart driving experience. It fully integrates Xiaopeng’s self-developed X-GPT large model.
The hardware configuration of this system includes a 15.6-inch floating touch screen, a 7mm ultra-narrow bezel, and a 10mm ultra-slim design with a 2.5K resolution. It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip. Compared to the 8155 chip, the CPU performance increases by 2.2 times, the GPU performance increases by 2.3 times, and the NPU performance increases by 5.2 times. Overall performance improves by 50%.
The 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel features a new UI design. It uses colors to reduce visual fatigue. The design integrates vehicle function controls. Users can easily switch interfaces. The panel displays real-time vehicle status.
As mentioned earlier, the Xiaopeng P7+ will feature Xiaopeng’s latest AI Eagle Eye vision driving solution. It aims for sustainable growth and evolution in semi-autonomous driving. It operates nationwide, without limits on cities, routes, or road conditions. It supports vehicle-to-vehicle and door-to-door functions. It no longer relies on lidar. We will provide a detailed interpretation after further test drives.
The new car offers two specifications of lithium iron phosphate battery packs: 60.7 kWh and 76.3 kWh. The corresponding CLTC ranges are 602 km and 710 km. All models feature an 800V high-voltage architecture. The car does not have aggressive power options. It comes with two rear-wheel drive single motors. The maximum power outputs are 180 kW and 230 kW. The top speed reaches 200 km/h.
Overall, the Xiaopeng P7+ reflects Xiaopeng’s understanding of family cars. It offers ample space and strong comfort. The features consider frequent family use. When combined with powerful smart technology, it becomes hard for some families to resist.
