4D Mapping Conference: Innovations in Smart Driving & Integrated Solutions

Oct 14, 2024

On October 11, 2024, the 4D Mapping User Conference took place in Guangzhou. CEO Cheng Peng announced the NI In Car smart driving product matrix. He also introduced the AC8025AE integrated chip for cabin parking.

At the conference, Four-dimensional Map’s strategic partner, Light Boat Intelligent Navigation, showcased the HD Lite lightweight map. They combined their mid-to-high-end full-stack software algorithms to launch the urban NOA intelligent driving solution. They demonstrated road tests in complex scenarios in Beijing and Guangzhou. Four-dimensional Map focused on releasing the NI In Car series. This series includes a matrix of intelligent driving products from entry-level to mid-to-high-end. They introduced a mid-level intelligent driving solution based on the Horizon Journey® 6E/M chip, which integrates driving and parking functions. This solution features full-scene coverage of high-speed navigation assistance (NOP) and upgrades for memory driving and parking. It uses the 7V3R12U sensor configuration to ensure precise data capture and efficient processing. The integration of computing and data technologies enhances system efficiency. Cheng Peng stated that this solution builds a data-driven intelligent driving closed-loop system. It continuously improves the driving experience through data compliance, crowd-sourced updates, and ongoing iterations to meet personalized user needs. Four-dimensional Map also unveiled a cabin-parking integrated solution aimed at the 100,000-class vehicle market. This solution merges their self-developed AC8025 chip with Horizon Journey® 3 technology. It features an innovative dual-domain integration design that significantly reduces hardware costs while efficiently reusing functions and deeply empowering data. The 5V5R sensor configuration showcases excellent cost control in dual-domain integration. This solution achieves a 70% localization rate. At the same time, Four Dimensions introduced an integrated parking solution based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SA8155 platform. This solution targets vehicles priced between 80,000 and 150,000 yuan (21160$). It achieves high integration by deeply combining the TBOX and the vehicle OTA engine. Notably, the solution features a minimalist configuration from hardware to software, including chips and sensors. Cheng Peng emphasized that this complete solution can reduce production costs for automakers by at least 20%. In addition, Four Dimensions disclosed progress in its vehicle-road-cloud integration and chip business. Currently, the company participates in vehicle-road-cloud construction in several pilot cities, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Wuxi, and Wuhan. Regarding chips, Four Dimensions’ subsidiary, Jiefa Technology, has shipped 85 million SoC chips and over 60 million MCU chips. The AC8025, released last year, has entered mass production and secured projects with five international joint venture automakers and independent brands. At the recent user conference, Four Dimensions launched the new automotive-grade integrated single-chip solution, AC8025AE. Compared to separate mid- to low-tier cabin and parking domain control schemes, this solution optimizes hardware, structure, heat dissipation, production processing, wiring, and system software. The AC8025AE will enter mass production in 2025. Cheng Peng noted that the AC8025AE chip uses an advanced packaging method, repackaging two mature chips into one. This approach shortens the development cycle, significantly reduces costs, and ensures the solution’s maturity and reliability.

At the end of the press conference, Cheng Peng said that car companies focus on mastering core technology IP and knowledge. They create differentiated brand experiences centered on user experience. They also collaborate closely with suppliers for joint development. This approach helps reduce costs, spread risks, and maintain high flexibility and competitiveness in the market, achieving “full-stack control.” Currently, Siwei Tuxin’s smart driving products have shipped over 1 million units. They have also designated and mass-produced over 2 million units, providing smart driving solutions for seven car companies. With breakthroughs in many new product solutions, Siwei Tuxin’s transformation will accelerate further. Its future blueprint is becoming clearer.
