Zhu Huaron announced that the company will launch 37 digital products. The overall goal is to reach annual sales of 5 million vehicles by 2030. The company aims for over 4 million sales in its own brand. It also targets 60% of sales to be new energy vehicles and 30% in overseas markets.
To meet this challenging sales target, Zhu Huaron said that Changan Automobile will invest 250 billion yuan over the next five years. The company will hire over 10,000 technology researchers.
Changan Automobile has over 40 years of solid car manufacturing experience. This experience provides a strong foundation for the development of the Avita 07. The Changan Smart Factory, where the Avita 07 is born, uses a 5G fully connected system. It combines a digital base with application development. This approach creates 16 categories of intelligent scenarios. It optimizes manufacturing efficiency and costs. It ensures high-quality production of the new vehicle.
Chang’an Smart Factory is Chang’an Auto’s largest investment. It features the highest level of intelligence and the most advanced equipment for new energy vehicles. The total investment reaches 10 billion yuan. The factory covers about 1159 acres and has a total building area of 410,000 square meters. It sits in the Innovation Economic Corridor of Yubei District, Chongqing. The factory uses a linear layout. Construction began in January 2023. It took only 352 days to enter the trial production phase.
The smart factory plans an annual production capacity of 280,000 vehicles. It focuses on products like the Avita 07, Deep Blue S05, and Qiyuan E07, all featuring REEV and EV dual power layouts. This super factory boasts several leading technologies. Highlights include ultra-high flexibility, automation, full-scene digital twins, 5G connectivity, top-notch craftsmanship, and green low-carbon solutions.
The smart factory features over 800 intelligent devices, more than 1,400 robots, over 650 smart AGVs, and over 200 fully automated workstations. Key processes achieve 100% automation. The “AGV + Robot + Unmanned Warehouse” model creates a flexible and scalable smart logistics system. The fully flexible production line supports simultaneous production of different brands, platforms, and power types. It leads the industry in line debugging and changeover efficiency. Users can place orders online and customize their vehicles based on preferences for model, power, and color.
The digital twin of the entire scene highlights the smart factory. The factory uses digital twin technology. It simulates, analyzes, predicts, and optimizes the entire manufacturing process in a virtual environment. The digital twin/virtual factory achieves a comprehensive virtual factory with multiple elements, dimensions, spaces, and time periods. It enhances planning, logistics, energy management, and production line transformation across the factory.
5G full-link technology makes smart factories the largest and highest-performing in the industry. The factory has 4 5G macro stations and 329 5G micro stations. It connects 5 major categories and 25 subcategories, covering 103 5G+ scenarios. The system networks over 12,000 devices and achieves a data collection efficiency of 1 million points per second. Based on Huawei’s smart factory solution, Changan, Huawei, and China Unicom jointly built a unified digital production platform and an “AI + digital twin” operating system. This system realizes a digital twin for the entire production process.
The smart factory employs 44 advanced manufacturing technologies. These include efficient micro-spray coating, fully automated processing, assembly, and inspection, as well as intelligent visual defect detection. The factory launched the first 7700T integrated die-casting production line in Chang’an. It also established 13 key vehicle empowerment testing stages based on software-defined automotive technology. With 5G technology, the factory achieved full remote diagnosis and OTA iterations. It built a new agile, reliable, iterative, and creative software testing production line. The smart factory also made significant strides in green and low-carbon initiatives. It installed a 36-megawatt distributed photovoltaic power generation system over 260,000 square meters. The system is expected to generate 26 million kilowatt-hours annually, which accounts for 19% of the factory’s total electricity consumption. It will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 24,000 tons per year.
The smart factory drives technological innovation. It features several world-first and industry-first technologies. For example, the online detection and automatic packing system for stamped parts is a global first.
