On October 28, 2024, Zhiji Auto launched its Intelligent Driving Technology Day and held a technology conference. During the event, Zhiji Auto announced its IM AD 3.0. This system evolved from “human-like” to “intuitive.” It integrates AI-generated “intuition” into its driving system, marking the start of the “intuitive” era in intelligent driving. Zhiji Auto partnered with Momenta to create an “end-to-end intuitive intelligent driving model.” With this model, Zhiji Auto claims to be the first brand in the industry with production capabilities for L2, L3, and L4 level intelligent driving. Experience the “intuitive” driving of a more skilled driver.
ZhiJi claims that intelligent driving has gained an AI-generated “intuition.” This marks a significant evolution. The IM AD3.0 mimics human brain structure. It generates instinctive reactions for decision-making. Passengers will experience driving akin to a ten-year veteran. ZhiJi states that the core technology of the intuitive driving era includes an end-to-end large model and a safety logic network. This “intuition + logic” approach will raise the limits of intelligent driving capabilities and greatly enhance safety.
“Intuitive driving” gives cars the ability to analyze road environments. It fills in gaps in the driver’s view. The system predicts conditions like advanced human thinking. It reacts instinctively. Even in complex traffic, it drives like an experienced driver.
During real-world demonstrations, the vehicle smoothly navigates blind spots and avoids obstacles like puddles in city NOA driving. It handles mixed traffic left turns with the skill of an experienced driver, waiting for the right moment. At complex intersections, it manages unclear conditions, such as no lane markings or wide vehicles, and passes through seamlessly. 智己 claims to be among the first globally to implement an “end-to-end large model.” This model results from a collaboration between智己汽车 and Momenta. Unlike traditional modular structures, this model integrates perception and planning into one. It trains a complete neural network using vast quality data from a data flywheel. It analyzes global and hidden information, learning from exemplary human driving behavior. The process transforms raw data input into planned path output, mimicking advanced human cognitive responses.
At the same time, the IM AD smart driving model efficiently uses the created safety logic network. It ensures the safety of intuitive decisions.
The end-to-end intuitive driving model features a unique “long-short term memory mode” architecture. It saves 10 to 100 times the model training cost. This accelerates iteration speed and quickly develops expert-level intuition. L3 is counting down to mass production. L4 will receive a new license. Zhiqi Automobile announced its L2+ advanced driver assistance system. This month, it launched the no-map city NOA for all models nationwide. It achieves “easy driving nationwide, safe driving in all scenarios.” Encouragingly, Zhiqi has started L2+ road testing in the European market. This will create the first “no-map NOA” that can drive globally.
Regarding the upgrade schedule for intelligent driving and autonomous driving, Zhiji announced that in June this year, Zhiji Auto joined the first batch of the national “L3 access and road test consortium.” The company expects to meet the mass production conditions for L3 autonomous driving plans by 2026. Zhiji Auto has officially begun the countdown to mass production of L3 autonomous driving. For higher-level L4 autonomous driving, Zhiji anticipates obtaining the first “L4 no-driver road test license” within this year. At that time, it will enable driverless cars to take to the roads first.
As L3 and L4 autonomous driving laws emerge, users will soon enjoy a leading autonomous driving experience.
