On November 15, 2024, the Guangzhou Auto Show opened. Chery showcased the Fengyun A8L model. This new car targets the mid-size sedan market. It features an 8155 high-level smart cockpit, electronic gear shift, 50W wireless phone charging, and a touch control steering wheel. For safety, it includes collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assistance. The car will use a 1.5T C-DM hybrid system for power.
The Fengyun A8L features a new logo design. It has a large polygonal grille at the front. The grille contains a horizontal chrome dot matrix structure with a smoked texture. The sharper front bumper and upward-angled headlights enhance its look. The trim panels on both sides of the grille receive a smoked treatment. They connect with the air intakes, giving the front a stronger visual impact.
The Fengyun A8L measures 4790mm long, 1843mm wide, and 1487mm high. The length increased by 10mm due to changes in the exterior design. The wheelbase remains at 2790mm. The new car features a nearly fastback shape to enhance its sporty feel. The rising beltline connects to the rear lights. The rear design incorporates Chinese elements. The continuous tail light resembles a “Chinese knot” and supports dynamic lighting effects, creating a striking visual impact. The new car offers 17-inch Fengying wheels and 18-inch dense-pattern wheels, depending on the configuration. It also includes welcome lights and chrome trim details throughout.
The new car features a 1.5T C-DM hybrid system. The engine delivers 156 horsepower. The motor provides 204 horsepower. The total power reaches 360 horsepower. It uses a single-speed DHT transmission designed for hybrids. The battery has a capacity of 18.3 kWh. Fast charging takes 30 minutes. The WLTC combined fuel consumption is 1.01 L/100 km, showing excellent fuel efficiency.
