On November 16, the new generation MINI Cooper gasoline models officially launched in China. The lineup includes six models: the three-door version, the five-door version, and the JCW.
The new MINI Cooper three-door model has a limited-time price range of 208,800 to 277,800 yuan (38410$). The new MINI Cooper five-door model has a limited-time price range of 218,800 to 277,800 yuan (38410$). The new MINI Cooper JCW model has a limited-time price of 305,800 yuan (42280$). The new cars continue to sell in China as imports.
The new MINI Cooper features a three-part body design with a split color scheme. The roof, window area, and body use contrasting colors. This creates a strong visual impact. The front has an octagonal grille. It includes royal carriage-style door handles, black stylized wheel arches, a retro split sunroof, and a removable antenna.
The interior of the new MINI Cooper features a sustainable cabin with innovative eco-friendly materials. The seats use high-quality synthetic leather Vescin. The center console includes a round OLED display, the same as the electric model, with the new Mini Operating System 9. It offers seven “MINI experience modes.” The car also includes a UWB digital key, seat massage, wireless phone charging, and the Spike smart personal assistant.
The new MINI Cooper offers two engine options: 1.5T and 2.0T. The 1.5T three-cylinder gasoline engine delivers 115 kW of power. The “Artist” model with the 2.0T engine boosts power to 150 kW and peak torque to 300 Nm. It pairs with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. This model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 1.5% faster than the previous generation. The JCW model features a high-power 2.0T engine with 170 kW and 380 Nm of torque. The new car also includes ABS+DSCi assistance and L2 level intelligent driving features.
