On November 26, Beijing Hyundai officially launched the new Tucson L. It offers four models, priced between 159,800 and 207,800 yuan (28690$). This model features a mid-term facelift. It has changes in both exterior and interior design. New configurations include HUD, OTA online upgrades, and multiple ADAS smart driving aids. Let’s quickly review the new car details: Pricing and benefits.
New Car Introduction
The main change in appearance is the front face. The new car adopts the latest ridge front design style. I feel its visual effect is more striking than the parametric design. The daytime running lights blend seamlessly with the grille, showcasing strong design quality.
The car’s side design remains unchanged. Its dimensions are 4670mm long, 1865mm wide, and 1690mm high. The wheelbase measures 2755mm, classifying it as a compact SUV. High-end models offer a two-tone body option. The trunk provides 582L of regular space. The second-row seats fold down with one button, expanding the space to a maximum of 1903L.
The rear maintains the old design features. The through-type taillights look sharp and dynamic, enhancing the sporty element. The new car offers the N Line package as an option. Models with the N Line package include a blacked-out front bumper, sporty 19-inch wheels, and red brake calipers. The center of the wheels features the “N” logo.
The interior has changed significantly. It features the same cabin as the flagship models Sonata and Santa Fe. This is the “Global One Model Flagship Cabin.” The overall look is simpler and fresher. The new version also offers improved smart technology compared to the old model.
The central console features a 12.3-inch panoramic curved screen. Below it, a 6.6-inch screen controls the air conditioning. The ccNC smart connectivity architecture enables several convenient functions. It allows separate wake-up for the driver and passenger. It supports wireless OTA updates, rear-seat quiet mode, valet parking, Apple CarPlay, CarLife connectivity, and location sharing.
The vehicle features the Hyundai SmartSense safety system. It includes 27 ADAS functions, achieving L2+ level smart driving assistance. The new model adds front and rear parking radar, side parking distance warning, rear parking collision avoidance, and remote smart parking. Other configurations include heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 12-inch HUD, a rotary electronic gear shifter, and BOSE audio.
The new car features a 1.5T engine. It delivers a maximum power of 147 kW and a peak torque of 253 Nm. The transmission system includes an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It offers both two-wheel and four-wheel drive versions.
