Recently, Mercedes-Benz Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation. Starting now, they recall 13 imported S-Class cars produced between May 3, 2017, and May 2, 2018. This update caused them to fail to meet emission standards and onboard diagnostic system requirements, posing emission risks.
Mercedes-Benz Sales Co., Ltd. will update the engine control unit and transmission control unit software for recalled vehicles through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers. This update will eliminate emission hazards. Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. recalls 17,235 domestic E-class cars produced between July 11, 2024, and October 14, 2024, starting today.
Some vehicles in this recall have incorrect versions of the transmission control unit software. This causes the display of torque and power values to be incorrect. These vehicles may not meet emission standards and onboard diagnostic system requirements. They pose an emission risk. Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will update the transmission control unit software for the recalled vehicles. Authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers will perform this update for free to eliminate the emission risk.
