On February 10, BYD held a smart strategy launch. The event introduced the Heavenly Eye technology matrix. This matrix covers all 21 models in BYD’s lineup. From entry-level A00 models to those priced at 200,000, all will feature advanced Heavenly Eye smart driving. BYD truly achieved “more features without higher prices.” This marks the start of the smart driving era for everyone.
At the press conference, BYD introduced smart driving versions of its Dynasty and Ocean series. The starting price is now 69,800 yuan (9620$). This makes advanced smart driving accessible beyond just high-end models. While other car companies compete on price, loans, and design, BYD took a bold step. It made smart driving available to more consumers.
BYD’s Tian Shen Eye has three levels: Tian Shen Eye A, B, and the newly released C. Tian Shen Eye A features a yellow tail mark. It will appear on the Yangwang brand models and includes three LiDAR units. Tian Shen Eye B has a red tail mark. It will mainly equip Tengshi and BYD models and includes one LiDAR unit. Tian Shen Eye C features a blue tail mark. It will mainly equip BYD’s Dynasty and Ocean series models and includes three cameras.
The newly released Heavenly Eye C features the advanced intelligent driving three-eye version. This car includes 5R12V perception hardware and end-to-end control algorithms. It excels in four key areas: architecture, sensors, algorithms, and data. The intelligent driving model boasts 12 high-definition cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. This setup provides 360° coverage with no blind spots. The vehicle can identify obstacles’ distance, height, position, and size.
In addition to the increase in sensing components, over 20 new models will upgrade to the DiLink100 smart cockpit. All models will feature a full LCD instrument panel. The central screen size will exceed 12.8 inches to meet smart driving needs. Moreover, the smart driving versions will upgrade to a capacitive steering wheel and include dedicated smart driving paddles.
In practical use, the Heavenly Eye C targets high-speed and urban expressways. It offers the High-Speed Navigation HNOA feature. This feature follows the planned navigation path. It executes tasks like entering and exiting ramps, lane keeping, cruising, autonomous lane changing, and avoiding obstacles.
Valet parking integrates with parking habits and scenarios. It allows passengers to exit and leave, lock the car, retrieve items anytime, and enjoy instant access. Features like automatic parking and remote parking also work through the Tian Shen Eye C. This technology simplifies and eases parking, promoting equal access to advanced smart driving.
BYD prioritizes safety. The “God’s Eye” system will create a comprehensive safety framework. The “God’s Eye C” high-speed navigation feature enables autonomous driving for over 1,000 kilometers without intervention. The AEB function reliably stops the vehicle at speeds up to 100 km/h. In the future, it will gradually introduce AEB capabilities at 120 km/h and 140 km/h. This ensures quick decision-making in emergencies to prevent accidents.
Meanwhile, the memory navigation MNOA is under rapid improvement. It will launch via OTA before the end of the year. This feature suits high-frequency commuting routes. It handles traffic light stops, complex intersections, automatic overtaking, full-scenario detours, and lane changes. In summary, BYD’s comprehensive upgrade shakes the entire automotive market.
