On February 14, 2025, Jietu Motors launched pre-sales for its new model, the Free Traveler. This SUV targets road trips and off-road adventures. It offers two power options: 1.5T and 2.0T. The vehicle features XWD, an automatic intelligent four-wheel drive system. The company provides four models based on configurations. The pre-sale price ranges from 129,900 to 159,900 yuan (22040$).
In terms of car purchase policies, new cars offer several discounts. A deposit of 2,000 yuan (280$) reduces the purchase price by 10,000 yuan (1380$). All brands provide a trade-in subsidy of 15,000 yuan (2070$). Customers can access up to three years of interest-free financing for 100,000 yuan (13790$). A 2,000 yuan (280$) deposit also grants a modification package worth 4,998 yuan (690$). Regarding sales, Jietu Motors sold 568,387 vehicles in 2024. This figure represents an 80.3% increase year-on-year. The company achieved a milestone of over 550,000 annual sales in six years. In 2025, Jietu Motors aims to sell 800,000 vehicles.
The Jietu Freer is the fuel version of the Jietu Shanhai T1. It follows the design style of the Shanhai T1. The new car features a boxy design. It also adds modern details. For example, the headlights have a clover shape. The recessed daytime running lights enhance the three-dimensional look and tech feel. The grille uses a letter logo, increasing the model’s recognition.
The design features a square box shape on the sides. The flat roof line ensures good interior space. The black front and rear wheel arches, along with the roof rack, enhance the car’s rugged feel. Its dimensions are 4706mm in length, 1967mm in width, and 1845mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2810mm.
The rear design shows depth. It uses the same taillights as the front headlights. Two black decorations connect them. The letter logo at the rear matches the front. This enhances the rear’s recognition.
The interior features a minimalist and rugged design. Most functions integrate into a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen. This screen uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 automotive-grade chip. It offers fast processing speeds and a more logical UI layout. The combination of a full LCD instrument panel and a large central screen enhances convenience. Below the screen, a row of physical buttons provides access to common functions. The Jietu Free Man features two engine options: a 1.5T and a 2.0T. The 1.5T engine delivers a maximum power of 135 kW and a torque of 290 Nm. The 2.0T engine offers 187 kW of power and 390 Nm of torque. It pairs with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission or an 8AT transmission. The new vehicle also includes an XWD automatic intelligent four-wheel drive system. This system uses BorgWarner’s sixth-generation intelligent torque manager and an intelligent limited-slip differential. It automatically switches four-wheel drive modes, distributes rear-wheel torque, and manages power output intelligently.
