On February 14, GAC held the E8 Owner’s Night and E8 PRO+ launch event in Xi’an. The E8 PRO+ has a limited-time price of 209,800 yuan (28920$). It joins the MAX+ and Longteng+ to create a complete E8+ product lineup.
The GAC E8, a key model for the brand, is a mid-size MPV. It has sold over 50,000 units in 14 months. According to the 2024 China Automotive Resale Value Report by the China Automobile Circulation Association and Jingzheng Gu, the E8 ranks first in one-year resale value among plug-in hybrid MPVs.
The new car shows few changes in appearance. It is an MPV, but the new design language looks younger and more stylish. The split headlights pair well with the LED daytime running lights. The horizontal grille features varied shapes and elements, avoiding a dull look.
The dual electric sliding doors remain. They enhance practicality for both family users and business scenarios. The addition of the 18-inch Qingzhi Future cutting wheel hub adds a dynamic and stylish flair. The new car measures 4920mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1760mm in height. Its wheelbase spans 2930mm. The interior area is 5.20m², and the cabin volume is 6.15m³.
The new car emphasizes simplicity, practicality, and intelligence in its interior design. The combination of a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.88-inch digital instrument panel offers users clear driving information and rich entertainment features. The interface is clear and user-friendly. The passenger-side table addresses storage, dining, and resting needs. The center console features a unique “dynamic island” design. This design enhances both aesthetics and usability.
The ADiGO 5.0 system has upgraded. It features a new interface design and interaction language. The interaction logic is simpler and more convenient. Users can personalize their experience more. The new car includes a new AI character, Xiao Qi. It responds in 0.5 seconds. Passengers can see and speak to it. Additionally, the new surround sound home theater and third-generation speakers enhance the car’s entertainment features.
The seat layout is key for the MPV. The new model offers flexible seating combinations for various scenarios. It easily switches between seven-seat and four-seat modes. In seven-seat mode, the configuration is 2+2+3, allowing full family travel. In the large four-seat mode, the first and second rows combine to create a spacious area for children measuring 885mm×1580mm×1220mm.
The new car features a scenic tea seat, a lying mode, and a space lounge mode. These options suit different driving scenarios.
The new car features super zero-gravity seats. These seats include electric leg rests, electric backrests, electric cushions, spa-level massage, and ventilation and heating functions. The cushion height is adjustable. The backrest can tilt up to 168°. For power, the car uses a high-efficiency 2.0 ATK engine combined with a dual-motor plug-in hybrid system. The engine delivers a maximum power of 103 kW and a maximum torque of 180 N·m. The electric motor produces a maximum power of 134 kW and a maximum torque of 300 N·m. The entire lineup comes standard with a 25.57 kWh ternary lithium battery. Under CLTC conditions, the pure electric range reaches 150 km. With a full charge and full tank, the range extends to 1200 km.
The new hybrid model features a 3.3kW external discharge function. It also offers a 5.5kW vehicle-to-vehicle discharge function. For charging, a fast charge takes 30 minutes to reach 30%-80% battery capacity.
The new GAC E8 PRO+ upgrades luxury, comfort, and intelligence compared to the original E8 PRO. It features 21 upgraded configurations across multiple dimensions. This enhances the car’s practicality.
