Today, the Tank 400 launched its 2.0T gasoline and 2.4T diesel versions. The gasoline version costs 249,800 yuan (34460$). The diesel version costs 264,800 yuan (36530$). Gasoline users prefer traditional power. They seek reliability and off-road capability. Diesel off-road vehicles are more economical. They offer high low-speed torque and better off-road reliability. They suit professional off-road enthusiasts.

The gasoline version of the Tank 400 features a 2.0T engine paired with a 9AT transmission. The 2.0T engine uses Miller cycle technology, a 350bar gasoline direct injection system, an integrated exhaust manifold, two-stage VVL, and a variable displacement oil pump. This setup improves fuel efficiency. The engine delivers a maximum power of 185 kW and peak torque of 380 Nm, matched with the 9AT gearbox. The diesel version has a 2.4T diesel engine with a compression ratio of 16:1. It achieves a maximum thermal efficiency of 42.3%, a net power of 135 kW, and a net torque of 480 Nm. It maintains excellent power continuity. At an altitude of 4700 meters, it can reach a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The diesel model includes a low-pressure preheating system. The heating coil can raise the temperature above 1000℃ within 3 seconds and maintain it between 900-1000℃ for 60 seconds. It also uses an AGM high-capacity battery, providing a cold start current of 850A and a capacity of 92Ah. This enhances low-temperature reliability, allowing the vehicle to start quickly even at -30℃.

The diesel model features an off-road thermal management mode for high-temperature conditions. When activated, it starts the cooling system’s main circulation early. The fan runs at high speed to lower the engine’s initial water temperature and enhance cooling performance. Users can opt for a silicone oil fan. This fan uses BorgWarner’s second-generation electric clutch system and can reach speeds over 4000 RPM. The Tank 400 diesel engine implements seven noise reduction measures. These measures optimize key components to achieve excellent NVH performance.

The Tank 400 diesel and gasoline versions use a mechanical four-wheel drive system. It features three locks. The vehicle can freely distribute power among the wheels. Even with one wheel on the ground, it ensures 100% power output. In 4L mode, the transfer case amplifies torque by 2.64 times, enhancing performance during difficult situations. The TOD+Mlock intelligent four-wheel drive improves off-road capability. It allows for a 50:50 power distribution between the front and rear axles. The system also enables a hard connection at the center, along with front and rear locks. Thus, the Tank 400 diesel and gasoline models are equipped with three locks. The gasoline version has a curb weight of 2365 kg. The diesel version weighs 2455 kg. The approach angle is 33°, the departure angle is 31°, and the breakover angle is 22.5°. The minimum ground clearance is 235 mm, and the maximum wading depth is 800 mm.
