On March 3, Geely launched its first B+ class flagship hybrid sedan, the Geely Galaxy Xingyao 8 EM, at the Geely AI Smart Technology conference. The new car features a dedicated hybrid architecture. It measures over 5 meters in length. Under CLTC conditions, it achieves a low fuel consumption of 3.67L/100km. All models come standard with advanced intelligent driving capabilities.
The Geely Galaxy Star 8 EM showcases the “Ripple Aesthetics” design from the Geely Galaxy brand. It features unique designs like the “Flying Eaves Tiger Gaze” headlights, “Flowing Light” contours, and “Rising Sun” taillights. These elements reflect Eastern aesthetics. They create a dignified and elegant presence. The design embodies a luxurious Chinese style.
The car measures 5018mm in length, 1918mm in width, and 1480mm in height. The wheelbase is 2928mm. It creates a luxurious, spacious interior with its executive size. The drag coefficient is only 0.25, leading in its class.
The rear design features a short trunk and a pronounced fastback shape. This enhances the car’s sporty attributes. The taillight assembly shows good layering. Another strong design choice is the Geely Galaxy E8’s departure from traditional continuous taillights. The slender lights converge from the sides to the center. They break with the brand logo and flip upward, creating a more appealing visual effect.
The Geely Galaxy Star 8 EM cabin features over 85% soft-touch surfaces. Its suede-like interior covers more area than competitors. The VIP electric executive seats offer the longest cushions, the longest slide distance, and the maximum recline angle in its class. Fully equipped, the seats provide ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The 23-speaker Flyme Sound system delivers an exceptional audio experience.
Geely Galaxy Starry 8 EM features the same Thunder EM-P super hybrid system used in Lynk & Co’s high-performance vehicles. It delivers a total torque of 605 Nm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds. Its fuel consumption stands at only 3.67 L per 100 km when the battery is depleted. This showcases the advantages of the Thunder EM-P super hybrid, ensuring users can drive well whether the battery is charged or not.
The Geely Galaxy Star 8 EM comes standard with the advanced Qianli Haohan H1 intelligent driving system. This system enables high-speed and elevated NOA navigation. Higher-end models include laser radar.
The Geely Galaxy Star 8 EM is Geely Galaxy’s first B+ luxury hybrid sedan. It aims to disrupt the current market and create new growth opportunities. This model will drive Geely Galaxy into the million-unit era and help achieve the million sales target. It will pair with the new Geely Galaxy E8 to form the “Galaxy Flagship Twin Stars,” enhancing Geely Galaxy’s product lineup.
