Since its launch, the BYD Han has attracted many consumers with its affordable price and high configuration. Its sales performance is strong. Recently, BYD built the Tian Shen Zhi Yan technology matrix and introduced the new BYD Han Intelligent Driving version. This new model features an intelligent driving system standard across all versions. It also includes an in-house developed vehicle computing platform and high-precision intelligent driving sensors. Which of the ten models released is the best choice? This issue of the “Car Buying Guide” will provide the answer.
On February 10, BYD officially launched the Han Intelligent Driving version. It offers 10 models, priced between 168,800 and 235,800 yuan (32590$). The new car features the Tian Shen Zhi Yan intelligent driving system. High-end models provide advanced driving assistance for highways and fast roads. The Han Intelligent Driving version also includes six purchase benefits: “Exclusive Renewal Gift, Worry-Free Gift, VIP Gift, Smart Connectivity Gift, Limited-Time Optional Gift, and Extended Warranty Service.” 1. Model Overview
The new car features BYD’s family design language. The front showcases multiple lines and chrome strips connect the headlamps. This creates a strong overall impression. A large air intake sits below. The front bumper includes air ducts and black accents, adding visual impact. The side adopts a streamlined design. The waistline adds depth to the profile. It also features popular hidden door handles, reducing drag. Blue smart driving lights appear on the side mirrors, indicating whether the smart driving system is active. The rear includes a full-width taillight, incorporating many Chinese elements for high recognition when lit.
Only the entry-level and mid-tier plug-in hybrid models have 18-inch wheels. They use tires sized 245/50 R18. All other models feature 19-inch wheels with tires sized 245/45 R19. Both wheel designs are stylish and attractive.
The car offers different colors. The 125KM laser radar flagship model only supports black and gray options. Other models have four color choices. The gray option costs 5,000 yuan (690$). Among the four colors, I recommend time gray and silver glaze white. They match the car’s elegant and steady style well.
The interior continues with a wrap-around design. The lines flow smoothly and show depth. The dashboard features a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen. It integrates vehicle control, navigation, and entertainment functions. Operation is very convenient. However, the upgrade removes BYD’s iconic rotating screen, which is a pity. Additionally, a phone slot with wireless charging sits in front of the cup holder.
The 2025 BYD Han Smart Driving Edition offers an EV version and a DM-i version. The EV version has motor power options of 150kW, 168kW, and 180kW. The corresponding CLTC pure electric ranges are 506km, 605km, and 701km. The DM-i version features an engine with a maximum power of 115kW and a maximum torque of 225N·m. Its total motor power reaches 200kW, with a total torque of 315N·m. The CLTC pure electric range is 125km. It includes a 1.5T engine and uses a lithium iron phosphate blade battery from Fudi.
