Recently, Cadillac launched the new CT5 at the Cadillac V-Day Performance Awards after a three-year hiatus. The event took place at the Zhejiang International Circuit. The new CT5 comes in two versions: the City Sport and the Track Performance. It also offers a Peak Track optional package. The starting price is 215,900 yuan (29840$). Compared to the old CT5, the new model features higher standard equipment and lowers the starting price by over 70,000 yuan (9680$).
The new CT5 looks similar to the previous model. It adds two new colors: Wind Blue and Typhoon Green. The car features a black label performance package. It includes a black-and-white Cadillac logo, black side mirrors, and a black model badge.
The configuration of the new CT5 has many changes. The entry-level City Sport version costs 215,900 yuan (29840$). It offers more features than the previous mid-range model. It includes a 360-degree panoramic camera, advanced L2 driving assistance, and smart parking. These meet the smart technology needs of 2025. The Track Performance version costs 245,900 yuan (33990$). It rivals the previous high-end models priced over 300,000 yuan (41470$). It features the “track trio”: mLSD mechanical limited-slip differential, Brembo four-piston brake system, and MRC 4.0 electromagnetic suspension. It also adds a knee airbag for the front passenger.
The track performance version with a fixed price of 265,900 yuan (36760$) includes the peak track option package. It adds 9-inch wheels and Michelin PS4S tires in size 245/40 R19. This model clearly targets the previous top platinum version, which sold for 341,700 yuan (47230$).
The new CT5 features the LSY 2.0T turbocharged engine. It pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 237 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel-drive layout allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.3 seconds. The top speed reaches 240 km/h. The power output is strong and smooth. This powerful combination enables the new CT5 to achieve a lap time of 1:49.681 at Zhejiang Circuit. It becomes the fastest four-door production gasoline car under 350,000 on the circuit leaderboard. In the luxury mid-size sedan market, the CT5 faces tough competition. However, after the recent upgrades and price reductions, its competitiveness has significantly improved. It excels in price, features, and driving performance. At the launch event, Cadillac presented a fitting slogan for the new CT5: “Blood Never Cold.” For consumers who cherish the mechanical traits and driving pleasure of gasoline cars, the new CT5 may become an essential part of their shopping list.
