Recently, we learned from Changan Qiyuan that its new mid-size SUV, the Qiyuan Q07, will announce its price and benefits at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 23. The new model started pre-orders on March 31. It offers five variants, with prices ranging from 139,800 to 175,800 yuan (24110$). Customers who pre-order the flagship model will receive seven exclusive gifts, including expansion gifts, premium gifts, upgrade gifts, trade-in gifts, financial gifts, exclusive gifts, and care gifts.
The Changan Qiyuan Q07 features a new family design style. The overall look is smooth. The official term for this design is “blade-free.” The narrow “Smart Wing 2.0” LED daytime running lights, split light groups, and closed grille create strong visual impact. The design balances elegance and modernity. It appeals to both individual and family users. The car offers several color options: Cloud Brocade White, Cloud Shadow Gray, Pine Smoke Black, Emerald Green, and Moonlight Silver. These choices allow for personal expression. Notably, the DLP color projection headlights support a 150-inch projection. Users can enjoy outdoor movies, karaoke, and games inside the car. This feature enhances the camping experience.
The car’s side profile features a smooth yet sturdy design. The straight roofline provides ample headroom for passengers. This roofline also enhances the car’s dynamic appearance. Despite being an SUV, it boasts stylish frameless doors and two-tone sporty wheels. These features emphasize its youthful appeal. The car measures 4837 mm in length, 1920 mm in width, and 1690 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2905 mm. It positions itself as a large five-seat SUV.
The rear features a wide shoulder line and a small rear window. This design creates a solid visual effect. The top-mounted spoiler adds a sporty feel and balances the overall design. The Changan Qiyuan Q07 will feature the new Blue Whale 3.0 hybrid system. It offers two engines: a 1.5L and a 1.5T. The maximum power reaches 72 kW and 110 kW, respectively. The engines include the world’s first 500 Bar high-pressure direct injection system. They achieve a thermal efficiency of 44.28% for mass-produced hybrid engines. The motor delivers a maximum power of 165 kW.
The new car features Changan’s own Jinzhongzhao 3C battery 2.0. The 1.5T plug-in hybrid model includes a 31.7 kWh battery pack. It achieves a CLTC pure electric range of 215 km and a comprehensive range of 1400 km. The 1.5L plug-in hybrid model offers two battery capacities: 21.5 kWh and 31.7 kWh. It provides a pure electric range of 145 km and 215 km under CLTC conditions. The car’s chassis uses the new generation SDA platform. It includes CDC intelligent magic carpet suspension, IDTC intelligent dynamic torque control system, and FSD frequency response shock absorber technology. Overall, the Changan Qiyuan Q07 excels in design, configuration, and power. Its reservation price of 139,800 yuan (19170$) and seven reservation gifts are very attractive. If the launch price surprises buyers, it could become a bestseller in the large five-seat new energy SUV market.
