Recently, SAIC-GM Buick announced the official delivery of the new large electric MPV, the GL8 Lushang. The vehicle launched on April 25. Three models are available, with prices ranging from 249,900 to 289,900 yuan (40060$).
The Buick GL8 Landmaster surpassed 10,000 orders just two weeks after its launch. It has begun large-scale deliveries nationwide. Official data shows that most buyers are upgrading or replacing their vehicles. Over 90% of buyers are married with children. Nearly 70% plan to use the vehicle for family travel.
The new GL8 Lushang recently launched a limited-time “Thank You for Over Ten Thousand” offer. From May 6 at midnight to May 31 at midnight, customers can complete online orders and deposit payments. They must deliver and invoice the vehicle by July 31 at midnight. Customers will receive special purchase benefits, including a deposit expansion gift. A deposit of 1,000 yuan (140$) counts as 3,000 yuan (410$) towards the purchase price. Buyers of the Smart Enjoy and Premium versions will enjoy an upgrade gift. They will receive free wool floor mats worth 1,000 yuan (140$).
The GL8 Lushang is a new energy MPV. It comes with the Buick self-developed “True Dragon” plug-in hybrid system as standard. The CLTC comprehensive range reaches 1420 km, with an all-electric range of 142 km. In smart hybrid mode, it achieves a fuel consumption of 1.25 L per 100 km. Even in low battery status, the WLTC fuel consumption is only 6.68 L per 100 km. The GL8 Lushang features a 1.5T hybrid engine. It delivers a combined power of 292 kW and a torque of 580 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. The overtaking acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h takes 4.8 seconds. Even in low battery mode, the GL8 Lushang maintains a top speed for 30 minutes.
The GL8 Luxurious has a body length of 5219mm and a wheelbase of 3088mm. It features three rows of theater-style seats, a full-size third row, and luxury airline seats for comfort. The smart cabin includes dual 12-inch screens and a 15.6-inch rear smart screen. It supports 3.3kW external power output.
