On May 16, the new NIO ES6 and EC6 officially launched. The new ES6 starts at 338,000 yuan (46880$). The new EC6 starts at 358,000 yuan (49660$). Deliveries for the new ES6 and EC6 will begin on May 20, 2025.
The new car received multiple upgrades. It redesigned the exterior and interior. It features a self-developed driver assistance chip from Weilai. It also upgraded to NOMI Mate 3.0. The new car has a highly recognizable appearance with a new color scheme. Changes in the details make it look more similar to the flagship ET9. The double Dash daytime running lights have thickened and rounded. The main light group frame changed to a rectangular shape. The entire range now comes standard with ADB smart matrix headlights.
The interior continues the ET9’s cabin style. The design features an adjusted steering wheel and a new gear lever. The previous gear shift area now hosts dual wireless charging pads. It includes a W-HUD. The biggest change is the vertical central control screen, which now measures 15.6 inches and is horizontally oriented. The vehicle features a new UI and the Cedar car system. NOMI now includes NOMI GPT, offering a wider rotation angle and higher recognition rates.
As a large five-seat SUV, the interior space offers plenty. It features electric seat adjustment, seat memory, seat ventilation and heating, and a massage function for the front passenger.
The full set of driving assistance system hardware includes the self-developed automotive-grade 5-nanometer smart driving chip “Shenji NX9031.” The official statement claims its single computing power equals that of four OrinX chips. This design ensures ample computing redundancy for future iterations of driving assistance.
