On October 18, the Avita 12 four-laser version began pre-sales. The official offer includes a limited-time benefit: pay 2000 yuan (280$) to get 5000 yuan (700$) off. Honestly, I was surprised to hear this car has four laser radars. Is that really necessary? What does each radar do? Let’s discuss!
The design still follows the “Future Elegance” concept. I believe Avita’s design stands out among all new brands. It is not conventional. It brings the future into reality. The new version does not focus on exterior evolution. It adds a new color option: Xijin Gray. I won’t elaborate further on the appearance.
The interior impresses just as much as the exterior. The 35.4-inch 4K panoramic display feels innovative. It pairs well with the 15.6-inch central control screen. This combination clearly distinguishes it from other interiors. The new rock brown color option enhances the design. The vehicle now features the upgraded HarmonySpace 5 system. The front seats come standard with dual zero-gravity seats. It also includes a 16-inch floating rear cabin screen and a British audio system.
Unlike the version with three LiDARs, this model adds a solid-state LiDAR at the rear, in addition to the three long-range LiDARs. It uses Huawei’s QianKun 4.0 technology. This technology helps detect downward steps and ditches, which are often unnoticed during regular driving. This is especially important at night. Even with rear radars and backup cameras, lighting issues can create safety hazards.
The pure electric model achieves a CLTC range of 755 km. The all-wheel-drive version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The extended-range model features a 53 kWh CATL super hybrid battery. It offers a CLTC pure electric range of over 356 km and a comprehensive CLTC range exceeding 1270 km. It supports 5C charging, allowing 30-80% charging in just 10 minutes.
