On September 23, Buick launched the OMPV concept car worldwide. SAIC General defines it as “Buick’s new generation MPV.” The Buick OMPV follows an organic ecological design philosophy.
The new car features a long body size. It emphasizes interior space. The front uses a continuous dot matrix light. LED lights adorn the air intakes and front bumper, giving it a strong sense of technology and futurism. The top of the front has a laser radar for advanced driver assistance. The B-pillar and C-pillar have a hidden design, creating a floating roof effect. The rear has a continuous taillight group, which looks unique when lit. The tail badge and letters can glow independently, enhancing recognition.
Official data shows that car interiors are no longer fixed. They connect to the internet, IoT, and V2X. This creates an organic, dynamic environment from a human perspective. The car system captures user needs and adjusts space layout and lighting. Users can switch between various scenes with one button. The cabin can serve as a lounge for relaxation or a mobile meeting room for business discussions. Regarding the power system, current resources indicate that the Buick OMPV concept vehicle will be built on the Ultium platform.
