Sina Auto News: Audi has officially released the RS 6 Avant GT, which will be the flagship of the RS6 series. The new car features unique graphics and performance packages. It is powered by a 4.0T V8 twin-turbocharged engine, with a 0-100km/h acceleration of just 3.3 seconds. The global production is limited to 660 units, with 66 units allocated for the Chinese market, and it will be officially launched in 2025.
In terms of appearance, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT is inspired by the legendary 1989 Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car and the 2020 RS 6 GTO concept car. Compared to the current regular version of the RS 6, it is equipped with a more aggressive performance package and body paint. The new car offers high-gloss black or matte black wheels. The integrated grille and the four-ring logo at the rear of the car as well as the model emblem are all standard in black. The Audi RS 6 Avant GT comes in 5 paint colors to choose from: Acona White, Nardo Gray, Daytona Gray Pearl, Sebring Brown Metallic, and Mythos Black Metallic.
The front end of the Audi RS 6 Avant GT still features the iconic hexagonal honeycomb grille from Audi RS, providing excellent heat dissipation and aerodynamic performance with its large frontal area and large aperture grille.
In addition, the new car has also made adjustments to the front bumper design, with larger air intakes on both sides, giving it a more aggressive look and a lower visual effect. Paired with the exaggerated front lip and high-gloss black paint, the overall appearance of the car is more aggressive.
Furthermore, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT has redesigned the engine hood, with sharper lines and the use of carbon fiber material to further reduce the weight of the front of the car.
It is worth mentioning that the Audi RS 6 Avant GT also features a unique paint job, primarily in white, combined with classic black, gray, and red from Audi’s sports department, and offers two exclusive decal color options to make the car look even more unique.
From the side, the overall silhouette of the car maintains the design style of the current RS6. In terms of details, the new car has a more exaggerated side skirt, and the fenders, side skirts, and exterior mirrors also use carbon fiber material.
The car looks lower with the addition of 6-spoke 22-inch wheels with white paint. Integrated air vents behind the wheels help reduce air pressure in the wheel arches and cool the brakes, improving braking and aerodynamic performance.
The rear of the car still uses a large inclined D-pillar design, combined with the smooth line of the window sill, creating a dignified and atmospheric effect. The difference is that the tailgate has been specially adjusted to make the rear lines more three-dimensional. The exaggerated high-gloss black rear lip, sturdy dual-sided dual exhaust, and large-sized roof spoiler all effectively showcase its performance.
The rear left side of the car is also equipped with black “RS 6 GT” exclusive lettering to show its special model identity. It is worth mentioning that the Audi RS 6 Avant GT is the first model in the history of the RS 6 Avant series to remove the roof rack, thereby obtaining a flatter and more sporty profile.
In terms of interior, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT still adopts the iconic three-screen design of Audi, and the overall technological texture brought by the three screens is still very strong when all three screens are lit up. In addition, the car interior is decorated with exclusive custom red and copper accents in many places, such as the steering wheel stitching, both sides of the center console, central armrest, door handles, and floor mats with the “RS 6 GT” logo.
The three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel has a sporty design. The driver can access trip information, vehicle information, and entertainment functions through the buttons and scroll wheel on the multifunction steering wheel. The 12.5-inch full LCD instrument panel behind the steering wheel has excellent display and functionality.
As the pinnacle of the RS6 series, the new car is decorated with Dinamica black ultra-fine fiber on the door handles, central armrest, center console, and door panels, creating an ultimate sporty atmosphere with performance seats and red seat belts. In addition, the front passenger side of the center console is also marked with the red limited edition number of 660 units for the model’s exclusivity.
In terms of power, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT will continue to be equipped with a 4.0T V8 twin-turbocharged engine and an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. The engine has a maximum power of 463 kW and a maximum torque of 850 Nm, which is 22 kW and 50 Nm more than the standard RS6 Avant. The transmission has been optimized to reduce shift times, allowing for acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the standard RS6 Avant. It can reach 200 km/h in 11.5 seconds, 1.5 seconds faster than the RS 6 Avant*. Its top speed is 305 km/h. In terms of braking performance, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT is equipped with a ceramic braking system and high-performance German brand tires with a size of 285/30 R22, reducing the braking distance from 100 to 0 km/h by 2 meters.
In terms of the four-wheel drive system, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT continues to be equipped with the quattro all-wheel drive system and uses the latest version of the locking center differential. The engine power can be distributed to the front and rear axles in a ratio of 40:60. If slippage occurs, a larger driving torque will automatically be applied to the axle with better traction – up to 70% of the torque can flow to the front axle, and up to 85% of the torque can flow to the rear axle. To further differentiate the Audi RS 6 Avant GT from other RS models, the quattro sport differential located on the rear axle has been specially tuned. The new parameters focus on improving agility and, in “dynamic” driving mode, bias power distribution towards the rear axle. Users will benefit from sporty, neutral, and high-precision handling. The Audi RS 6 Avant GT is the first Audi model to come standard with an adjustable coil spring suspension, and the only model with this feature. Compared to the base Audi RS 6 Avant, this suspension system can lower the body height by 10 millimeters, achieving a harmonious balance between sportiness and comfort. Higher spring stiffness, three-way adjustable shock absorbers, and a higher rigidity stabilizer bar effectively reduce body roll and significantly enhance driving pleasure. For customer convenience in personalizing adjustments, the vehicle is also equipped with necessary tools and corresponding instructions. Customers can also order the RS sport suspension plus with dynamic driving control system, or the RS adaptive air suspension.
