Changan Qiyuan announced the launch of Qiyuan A05 and Q05 models. The two new cars have upgraded power and the Blue Whale power platform has also been upgraded with the Smart AI Electric Drive 2.0, providing “Dual Electric Hybrid” mode. The A05 model is a compact sedan with 5 models priced between 7.89-10.99 million yuan. The Q05 model is a compact SUV with 3 models priced between 9.69-11.29 million yuan.
Changan Qiyuan A05 Fragrant Edition
In terms of appearance, the Changan Qiyuan A05 Zhenxiang version adopts the latest design language of the Changan family. The front face features a closed-type intake grille design commonly used in new energy vehicle models. The “smart biomimetic smile front face” is very simple, with only a narrow opening in the middle of the air intake. The lower bumper also has only one continuous air intake, which significantly enhances the overall technological feel of the vehicle.
Looking at the side of the car, the Qiyuan A05 Zhenxiang version still adopts the popular sloping roof design in this class of car models. In addition, the smooth waistline extends from the front headlights to the taillights, and the lower body has a strong three-dimensional feel, enhancing the sense of power on the side. In terms of size, it measures 4785/1840/1460mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2765mm.
The rear design is simple and stylish, the upturned ducktail adds a sporty feel. The smoked LED taillights are sharp, echoing the front design.
In terms of interior design, the new A05 still follows the family’s minimalist design approach. The layered center console adds a sense of strength, while the dual-tone interior color scheme enhances the three-dimensional and quality feel inside the car. Additionally, the flat-bottomed steering wheel with a new logo exudes a strong sense of technology.
In terms of intelligent configuration, the new car is equipped with the MTK 8666 chip, 8-core CPU, with a high-speed computing frequency of 2GHz and 2 trillion neural computing power per second. It also comes with the Xunfei Feiyu OS 4.0 ecosystem, featuring custom map desktop, Kuwo music, Himalaya, product operation, Xunfei input method, voice self-learning, children’s channel, mini programs, app store, and other rich ecosystem service content. Additionally, it provides the AI Xiaoan intelligent voice system, supporting hands-free wake-up and multi-round voice dialogue functions. It also supports custom desktop Amap, mobile Bluetooth key, app remote control, gesture control, in-car photography, external light show, and other rich and interesting ecosystem content, as well as supporting OTA upgrades in five major areas of the vehicle. In terms of driving assistance systems, the Qiyuan A05 Zhenxiang Edition high-end model is equipped with L2 level driving assistance system, with integrated adaptive cruise control, lane departure assistance, and more.
In terms of power, the Changan Qiyuan A05 Zhenxiang Edition is equipped with a range-extending hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L Blue Whale naturally aspirated engine + battery + motor, supporting plug-in hybrid mode and range-extending mode. The 1.5L engine has a maximum power of 81kW, with the drive motor providing low and high power options, with maximum powers of 140kW and 158kW respectively. For battery life, the new car will offer a choice of lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium batteries, with pure electric ranges of 70km and 145km respectively under CLTC conditions. Taking the 145km pure electric range version as an example, its comprehensive range with a full tank and battery exceeds 1300km.
In terms of appearance, the front face of the Q05 Zhenxiang version is designed with a “digital biomimetic frontal face”, featuring a layered structure. The closed design of the front grille, along with the newly designed logo, adds a unique visual appeal to the front of the car. The vertical trapezoidal hollow decorative panels on both sides of the bumper have a diffused pattern, providing ventilation and cooling for the front brakes during driving. In the details, the new car features integrated headlights design, with slender and sharp front lights paired with raised lines on the hood, giving it a fierce look. The vertical LED daytime running lights on both sides below are highly recognizable.
The rear design echoes the front, creating a sense of layers with sleek lines. The detailed lower bumper matches the front design. The diffuser on the rear bumper adds a perfect touch of sportiness.
The interior design follows a simple style, with a strong sense of new energy. The layout of the 10-inch embedded LCD instrument panel and the 12.3-inch floating central control screen adopts a front and rear staggered design. The technology is still strong with the through-type air conditioning vents and the uniquely shaped yacht-style shift lever. The octagonal shaped steering wheel highlights a certain sense of sportiness.
The 13.2-inch floating central control screen is horizontally arranged, with the car system built-in MediaTek MTK8666 chip. In terms of driving assistance systems, the Q05 True Fragrance Edition will also be equipped with an L2 level driving assistance system, which includes integrated adaptive cruise control, lane departure assistance, sentinel mode, 540-degree high-definition panoramic image with transparent bottom chassis, one-key track reversing, and automatic parking function.
In terms of power, the Changan Q05 Zhenxiang version uses a 1.5L efficient Blue Whale hybrid engine + motor plug-in hybrid system, offering both plug-in and extended range modes. The engine has a maximum power of 81kW and maximum torque of 143N·m; the peak power of the drive motor is 158kW, with a peak torque of 330N·m. For range, the vehicle will be equipped with an 18.4kwh battery pack, with a pure electric range of 125km under CLTC conditions. The comprehensive range is 1215km.
